Savanna Hamilton is an Olympic broadcaster and producer for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games on CBC Sports. Based out of Cortina d’Ampezzo, her coverage spans 10 sporting events across the region, told through broadcast, digital, social, and brand-integrated storytelling.
A trailblazer in sports media, Savanna is recognized as the first Black woman to serve as a national sideline reporter for Sportsnet’s broadcast of the Toronto Raptors and the first full-time Black female host on NBA TV Canada. A former host and producer with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), she created Three Course Conversation for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Hold Space: Celebrating Game Changers, a cross-team panel series spotlighting changemakers across the Raptors, Leafs, TFC, and Argos. She also developed The Raptors 905 Podcast, launched SWISH: Inside the WNBA - Canada’s first and only national women’s basketball show (four seasons) - and hosted Raptors Today, NBA TV Canada’s flagship program from 2020 - 2022.
Savanna is also a host on CBC Sports’ The U, a weekly multi-platform show spotlighting Canadian university athletics (U SPORTS), recently renewed for a second season. She co-hosts and produces Cinderella Stories, a weekly multi-media women’s sports podcast, and partners with leading brands including DraftKings x NFL Canada, Maybelline New York x WNBA Canada, LG x NBA and many more.
A Toronto Metropolitan University Sport Media graduate and former varsity basketball player, she helped her team claim an OUA Provincial Championship and a U SPORTS National Silver medal (both being the first in school history). Savanna engages 140,000+ followers across TikTok and Instagram, and is inspired by (and grateful for) the guidance of groundbreaking women like Ros Gold-Onwude. She carries that support forward by mentoring young journalists and creating space for the next generation of storytellers.
